The construction of the international airport in Dubai is underway
If you have visited Dubai and were amazed by the spectacular airport, you have not seen anything yet: The United Arab Emirates has approved the construction of the new airport which will be the largest in the world, five times the size of the existing one, with hundreds of aircraft gates and the latest aviation technologies in the world. In Dubai, they intend to build an entire futuristic city around the airport, which is expected to further strengthen the Dubai economy.Muhammad bin Rashed Al Maktoum known as Sheikh Mohammed, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai, approved earlier this week the establishment of the international airport “Al Maktoum” which will cost 128 billion dirhams (about 35 billion dollars) and will contain the largest capacity in the world of an international airport – up to 260 million passengers.

The new airport will also be among the largest in the world: it will cover an enormous area of ​​70 square kilometers, five times the size of the current giant Dubai airport. All the activities of the existing international airport will be transferred to the new port in the coming years.

The airport will contain 400 aircraft gates and include five parallel runways. The most innovative aviation technologies in the world will be installed in the field and will be used for the first time in the new field. The port will be located in the south of Dubai, around which a whole city will be built that will include apartments, hotels, convention centers and commerce. Construction works are expected to be completed in 2030.

The busiest airports in the world today in terms of passenger traffic are Atlanta International Airport with 110 million passengers a year, Beijing International Airport with 101 million passengers, the current Dubai airport with 90 million passengers, Los Angeles International Airport in the USA with 88 million passengers, the airport in Tokyo with 86 million passengers, the port in Shanghai with 84 million passengers and Kennedy Airport in New York through which 77 million passengers pass annually.
