Google Photos will now allow you to hide certain faces in the Memories section | TECHNOLOGY

Google Photos is working on a novelty for the Memories section, which will have the ‘Show less’ feature to limit the appearance of specific faces in the photographs collected in this space.

The application is capable of detecting images of places, pets or faces and displaying them organized in different sections, such as People Search in the latter case. This makes it easier to find photos in which a certain element appears.

Another of the sections that Google Photos introduces is Memories, in which the company is currently working to offer users greater control over what they view in the application, according to Android Authority contributor Assemble Debug.

This new functionality, noticed in version v6.81.0.628906483 of the Google application, is shown with the ‘Show less’ button, which allows you to keep images of a certain person saved in the application storage, but with the particularity that it will stop showing it frequently in Memories.

As noted by this media, this feature is somewhat more permissive than the ‘Block Face’ option, which “makes faces completely disappear from Memories and group photos,” as indicated in the shared screenshot.

In this way, the ‘People and pets’ section of Google Photos will have a button that allows ‘Hide faces from memories’, with the aforementioned option, of which Google says that it will not show memories with those people “although it is possible that “They still appear in group photos.”

This functionality, which is currently not available in the application, can be modified from the Settings section, accessing the Preferences space and then clicking on Memories.
