Uber with significantly higher revenue at the beginning of the year, increased the number of users and trips globally

American digital ride-hailing and delivery services company Uber reported double-digit revenue growth on Wednesday, with significantly higher numbers of users and trips.

Uber’s revenue increased in the first three months of this year by 15 percent compared to the same period last year, to $10.13 billion.

Revenue from transportation services jumped by 29 percent, to 5.6 billion dollars. In the delivery department, it increased by four percent, to 3.2 billion dollars.

The number of active users of the platform during the period of one month jumped by 15 percent, and the number of trips by 21 percent.

The company closed the quarter with a net loss of $654 million, three times higher than at the beginning of 2023, highlighting the reduced value of investments in stocks that are not listed on the stock exchange.

Adjusted basic profit jumped by 82 percent, to 1.38 billion dollars.

The gross value of reservations increased by 20 percent, to 37.7 billion dollars.

The impetus for the results in the transportation business was a greater number of trips to airports and offices, and in the service business, new customers and shortened delivery times, said CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.

In the second quarter, Uber expects the value of reservations to be in the range of $38.75 to $40.25 billion.
