Hajduković in front of the Russian embassy: ‘Russian oil has the color of Ukrainian blood’

The representative of the Social Democrats Club in the Croatian Parliament, Domagoj Hajduković, held a protest performance in front of the Embassy of the Russian Federation due to, as he points out, “terrible crimes in Ukraine that is suffering aggression.”

At the address Bosanska ulica 53, where the Embassy is located, MP Hajduković changed the name of the street with the new name “Street of Victims of Russian Aggression against Ukraine” and presented an official request to change the name of the street sent to Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević.

– I expect the statement and support of the city government headed by Mr. Tomasevic so that a clear and loud message can be conveyed through diplomats to the Kremlin. Brutal aggression and butcher crimes must stop and Europe must put an end to tyrant Putin. While we symbolically support the fight against evil, as Europeans, on the other hand, we support it financially as long as we pay for Russian energy. It is time for tectonic political and economic changes because Russian oil is soaked in Ukrainian blood – said MP Hajduković at the protest performance.

– This is something where the City of Zagreb can actively show that it stands by Ukraine. It is my initiative for many cities in Croatia to display Ukrainian flags, but the mayor has not yet responded. This is another call to him to show and condemn clearly and unequivocally that such moves are bad, because Russian oil is the color of Ukrainian blood – said Hajduković, N1 reports, adding that he formally legally sent a request to change the name of part of the street.

‘This cannot pass in the 21st century’

– This is to show that this cannot pass in the 21st century. No pasaran! – said Hajduković, adding that “this is an action for all those whose voice cannot be heard, because they have been silenced forever”. He pointed out that his performance was not against the Russian people. “I consider myself a Russophile, I love Russian literature and culture, but this is a condemnation of a regime that is carrying out aggression against another country,” he said.

– I will not stop, I will continue, I have written to European institutions and I continue to advocate the European path of Ukraine because I think that candidate status for Ukraine would be a form of symbolic support. It is clear that she will not become a member overnight, but giving candidate status would be a clear message that at some point we see Ukraine and Ukrainians in our large European family – said Hajdukovic, adding that the performance is an expression of his position on his own behalf. join all who share the same opinion about the Russian aggression on Ukraine.
