US President-elect Donald Trump announced that Adam Boehler will become special envoy for hostage affairs.
In the previous Trump administration, Boehler was a key member of the team that worked on the Abraham Accords, a series of normalization treaties between Israel and Arab states signed in 2020-2021.
“Boehler has negotiated with some of the toughest people in the world, including the Taliban, but he knows that no one is stronger than the United States, especially when I’m president. Adam will work tirelessly to bring American citizens home,” Trump said.
Adam Boehler previously headed the federal agency DFC, created during Trump’s first term.
