Milei says Musk is the “Leonardo da Vinci” of the 21st century

In an interview given this Wednesday (8) to the radio The Observer 107.9the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, was full of praise for businessman Elon Musk, whom he compared to great names in the history of humanity.

“The experience of talking to him… I mean, this man is in another league. For me, he is the Thomas Alva Edison of the 21st century. Or, if you prefer, Leonardo Da Vinci… He is truly fabulous”, declared Milei, highlighting Musk’s impact and genius on the global stage.

The statement was made during an extensive conversation with journalist Luis Majul, in which Milei also addressed crucial questions about his administration and the economic policies he has implemented in Argentina. Among the topics discussed, the president spoke about the structural reforms promoted, the reduction of the fiscal deficit and tax relief targets.

When defending his economic policies, Milei highlighted the popular acceptance of cuts in the public sector, which are part of the so-called “chainsaw” promoted by the Argentine president. According to Milei, these policies “have a consensus of 70% to 80%” of the population.

Still talking about the impact of his reforms, Milei commented on the reaction of international leaders upon learning about the number of changes promoted in the country.

“In one of the conversations I had with important leaders, when I said that we had carried out 800 structural reforms, they said that, if they managed to carry out three in one year, it would already be a great achievement”, he stated.

He added “Elon Musk wants to do something similar (in the US), and Italy is looking at” these policies.

In the interview, Milei also criticized her vice-president, Victoria Villarruel, with whom she has publicly disagreed in recent weeks.

“Victoria Villarruel has committed a series of unforced errors, with many statements and attitudes that are not aligned with what Argentines want,” he stated.

Milei celebrated the reduction of poverty and the fall in inflation as direct results of his economic policies.

“With the fall in inflation, poverty continues to decline. From 57% to 36%, we reduced 21 points, lifting 9 million people out of poverty”, he highlighted.

He also criticized the fiscal policy of the previous government: “The year before we took office, the previous government had issued 13 points of GDP, this is called seigniorage, it is a fraud.”
