The separatists of Donbas intend to hold a “referendum” on joining Russia in September

The self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” may hold a “referendum” on joining Russia in September.

Alexander Kofman, the chairman of the “public chamber” of the organization, announced this. According to him, it would be appropriate for the “People’s Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk” to hold referendums on the same day.

“According to the assurance of our military leaders, the entire territory of Donbass will be liberated at the end of August, therefore, it will be possible to organize the referendum in the middle of September,” Kofman said.

Meanwhile, the leader of the self-proclaimed organization of Donetsk, Denis Pushilin, laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in Brest Castle today. Andrey Turchak, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, and Boris Gryzlov, the Russian Ambassador to Belarus, took part in the ceremony.

After the ceremony, Pushilin wrote in his Telegram channel that “today the time has come to liberate the Russian cities founded by Russian people: Kiev, Chernigov, Poltava, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Lutsk.”
