Estonia stopped issuing student visas and residence permits to Russians

The Estonian government has announced that it has stopped issuing temporary residence permits and student visas to Russian citizens. The move is approved as part of sanctions designed to put pressure on Russia.

Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsal said that by unleashing the war, Russia not only grossly violated the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, but also threatened the security of Estonia and other countries of the European Union.

He expressed hope that the imposed sanctions would help stop Russian aggression, which would have a positive impact on the security of his country.
