The meeting between Vučić and Sančes has begun
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met today in Belgrade with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez (Sanchez), at the beginning of his four-day tour of the Western Balkans. On the eve of the meeting, Vučić gave Sanchez a ceremonial welcome in front of the “Serbia” Palace, after the Spanish Prime Minister was welcomed at Belgrade’s “Nikola Tesla” airport by Serbian Finance Minister Siniša Mali.

Vučić stated on Instagram that he was “pleased to host” Sanchez and that he would discuss with him “all topics of importance” for the two countries.

After the meeting between Vučić and Sanchez, a plenary meeting of the delegations of the two countries will be held, and the leaders of Serbia and Spain will then address the public.

Sanchez will end his visit to Belgrade tomorrow with a meeting with the President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.

The Spanish Prime Minister will also visit Sarajevo, Mostar, Podgorica, Skopje and Tirana by August 1.

Spain is one of five European Union members that have not recognized the independence of Kosovo, the only economy among the Western Balkan six that Sanchez will not visit during the tour.

Sanchez is visiting the region with the aim of “reactivating, reviving and revitalizing the process of enlargement” of the EU to the Western Balkans, Spanish media recently stated.
