The speaker of the State Duma called the traitors of the Russians who left the Russian Federation after the start of the war

Citizens of the Russian Federation who left the country after the start of the war in Ukraine are traitors. This point of view was expressed by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, TASS reports.

“Those who wanted to wait out this time, leave for warm countries and look at it all from there, must understand that he is a traitor,” Volodin emphasized.

In addition, he also noted that those politicians who spoke out against the recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics are against their own people. “100% of the political factions in the State Duma supported the independence of the LPR and the DPR. And this is very important. And those who did not support it are not with the people,” Volodin said.

After the outbreak of the war, according to sociologists, more than a hundred thousand people left Russia. Most often, they moved to Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and Kazakhstan, Meduza recalls.

Russian authorities claimed in May that 80% of those who had left had already returned to the country.
