A ballistic missile launched from Iran entered Turkish airspace before it was shot down by NATO air and missile defense systems located in the eastern Mediterranean, the Turkish Ministry of Defense reported.
This is already the fourth such incident since the start of the US-Israel-Iran war.
Earlier this month, NATO systems shot down other missiles three times, after which Ankara filed a complaint and warned Tehran. Iran denied its involvement in the previous three cases and offered Ankara to create a joint investigation.
The ministry announced that all necessary measures are being taken against any threat to the territory of Turkey.
