Somali authorities confirm the death of at least ten civilians as a result of an attack by militants of the radical Islamist group Al-Shabaab on the Hayat Hotel in Mogadishu, AFP reports. There are wounded, the number of victims may increase.
The operation to neutralize the terrorists on the territory of the hotel continues.
On the evening of Friday, August 19, armed militants attacked the Hayat Hotel in Mogadishu (the capital of Somalia). Local authorities reported that the guests and staff were evacuated from the hotel by security forces.
Al-Shabaab did not claim responsibility for the attack.
