Zelensky met with Ukrainian rabbis and expressed appreciation for their activities

The meeting, held at the initiative of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine (FJCU), marks the fifth Passover in which the country is in a severe war. Zelensky, who since the outbreak of the fighting has been careful to maintain close contact with Chabad representatives in the country, received from them an overview of the situation of the communities and expressed his deep appreciation for their decision to stay with their sheep grazing in the bombed cities, despite being foreign citizens.

Zelensky did not hide his admiration for the books and pamphlets printed in the local language, on which they labored at the Kharkiv printing house under the management of Mr. Shifrin and Mr. Wilensky. “We are proud of your firm stand. You are an example to the whole world of how to fight for justice,” said Rabbi Stembler to the president.
