The head of RN Marine Le Pen was received by Joshua Zarka, Israeli ambassador to France

The discreet meeting was not announced on any official diplomatic channel. Marine Le Pen was received this Wednesday by the Israeli ambassador in Paris, Joshua Zarka, according to information from the i24 channel confirmed to Le Parisien by the Israeli embassy.

The interview is in line with the support given by the patron of the National Rally to the Hebrew State, at war for more than two years. “Israel is doing what it can in a situation that is extremely difficult,” she defended in May 2025, tackling Emmanuel Macron’s criticisms – “unworthy” – of Benyamin Netanyahu.

Presidential campaign

A few months earlier, party president Jordan Bardella had made a historic trip to Israel accompanied by Marion Maréchal. The RN’s de-demonization strategy was reinforced by the lifting of the ban on diplomats from the Jewish state from being in contact with far-right European groups, revealed by Opinion in March 2023.

Marine Le Pen, for her part, is waiting to know, on July 7, whether she will be able to run in the 2027 presidential election, the leader of the frontist party risking a sentence of ineligibility – the prosecution has requested four years in prison, including one year in prison, and five years of ineligibility – in the so-called parliamentary assistants affair.
