Despiteč during the current ceasefire in the war with the US and Israel, more than 26 million people have volunteered for military service as part of the campaign called “Sacrifice your life”, Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported on Wednesday, as reported by dpa.
About 90 million people live in Iran. According to state radio, the volunteers will be deployed alongside the Revolutionary Guard and the army.
Human chains are also planned to protect potential attack targets.
According to IRIB, among those who have registered are Iranian President Masud Pezeškian, most of his ministers, and numerous officials, athletes and artists. The influential Speaker of Parliament Mohamad Bagher Ghalibaf also registered.
