The Prime Minister condemned the burning of the Turkish flag

In a conversation with “Armenpress”, the press secretary of the prime minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, said that Pashinyan condemns such practices, evaluating them as irresponsible and unacceptable.

“The burning of the flag of an internationally recognized state, especially of a neighboring country, by the head of the state cannot be appreciated in any other way. This is clearly provocative and tension-inducing behavior,” the spokesperson said.

At the start of the march with torches organized by the ARF, the Turkish flag was burned again this year. Last year, Nikol Pashinyan again condemned the burning of the flags of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Yerevan and Ankara have been negotiating for the normalization of relations for four years, starting in 2022. However, the main agreement reached during this period, the opening of the border for citizens of third countries, still remains on paper. They announce from Yerevan that Armenia is ready, the ball is in Turkey’s court. Moreover, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan told journalists in Istanbul that Turkey is a prisoner of Azerbaijan’s influence in terms of the regulation of relations with Armenia.
