The Russian president, Vladimir Putinhe assured this Monday at the beginning of his meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abas Araqchithat Russia will do everything possible to ensure that peace comes to the Middle East as soon as possible.
The head of Iranian diplomacy highlighted that, “as you have rightly said, the Iranian people demonstrated to the world that thanks to their resistance, courage and spirit they have been able to successfully fight against American attacks and aggression.”
“Iran resisted and will continue to resist,” he added.
Furthermore, he stressed that for Tehran “Russian-Iranian relations mean a strategic partnership at the highest level and we will continue on that path,” so bilateral cooperation will develop “regardless of what happens.”
Also participating in the meeting were the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov; the Kremlin’s advisor for international affairs, Yuri Ushakov, and the head of Russian military intelligence, Igor Kostiukov.
