The human rights organization Doctors Without Borders has presented a report accusing Israeli authorities of systematically depriving residents of the Gaza Strip of access to drinking water. This qualifies as collective punishment.

The document, entitled “Water as a Weapon,” states: “The destruction of Gaza’s civilian water infrastructure is an integral part of the Israeli genocide. Water shortages are carefully planned while simultaneously killing civilians and destroying homes and medical facilities.”

“The destruction and creation of inhumane living conditions in Gaza are deliberate. The Israeli authorities know that life without water is impossible. Nevertheless, the water supply system is systematically destroyed and water supplies are limited,” say the report’s authors.
