The US State Department has announced that it will issue a limited number of commemorative passports with the portrait of President Donald Trump.
According to the statement of the spokesman of the State Department, Tommy Pigott, the passports will be issued in July as part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the US Declaration of Independence.
The statement, however, did not mention that the passports will contain Trump’s portrait. Still, images released by the State Department show Trump’s portrait on the passport in front of the scene of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
“These passports will feature personalized artwork and enhanced images, while maintaining the same security features that make the US passport one of the most secure documents in the world,” Piggott said.
Also, the US Mint announced plans to issue a commemorative coin with Trump’s image on the anniversary of the country’s founding, and the Ministry of Finance noted that Trump’s signature will be placed on the banknotes. this will be the first time a sitting president will sign US bills.
