A car crashed into a group of people in the center of Modena in northern Italy.

In the center of the city of Modena in northern Italy, a car crashed into a group of people. Several people were injured, some of them in serious condition, ANSA reports.

This was reported by Italian news sites, which noted that the driver – a 30-year-old Italian citizen – hit at least 12 pedestrians and stabbed a passerby who tried to stop him.

According to preliminary data, a car driven by a man of North African origin drove onto the pavement, also hitting a bicycle, and then crashed into a woman, who received the most serious injuries, her legs were crushed.

Four or five passers-by managed to detain the driver, after which he was handed over to law enforcement agencies.
