A peace agreement? This is what the Egyptian media think about Israel

“I am not afraid of anything, I am against Israel and I will remain against Israel! Our fighting and humane doctrine remains against Israel! A strong country that knows what resistance is, that is what I want!”. These things were said by the Egyptian broadcaster, in one of the most influential and popular talk shows in the Arab world.

Live on the show “Al-Haqaya” (The Story), one of the most influential and popular talk shows in the Arab world, broadcast on the Saudi channel mbcmasr, the senior Egyptian broadcaster chose to remove the gloves, and speak directly about what he calls “the essence of Egyptian patriotism” (following a viral video of soldiers in the Egyptian army in a training parade, when they say – with the help of artificial intelligence – “Israel under the sole”).

In a militant monologue (under the title: “The belief of the Egyptian army is that Israel is the enemy… and I am happy with the state of the people with the army… we all know who the enemy is”), Adib clarified that from his point of view and from the point of view of the military establishment in Cairo, nothing has changed: “Our combat doctrine remains, and our human doctrine, against Israel.” He defiantly added: “I am not afraid of anything, I tell you: I am against Israel and I will remain against Israel!”.

Adib goes against voices in Egypt that call for a focus on the economy and industrial peace, and scornfully quotes those who say: “Brother, what’s up with you? Enough already, make a living and move on.” In his view, there is no power without military standing: “No! A strong country makes a living with respect, a weak country gets slapped.”

He emphasizes that his vision for future generations is “a strong country that knows what resistance is, that’s what I want!”. A central part of his remarks was devoted to the Egyptian army and its inherent lack of trust in Israel.

According to him, the army religiously follows what is happening on the Israeli side: “(The Egyptian army) meets a lot, and it reads a lot… and it fails to love you, it fails to trust you.” The reason for this, according to him, is moral-ideological: “because the Egyptian army does not like a distorted situation (injustice/injustice)”.

Adib addressed his viewers with an inciting message: “Put your hand on the pulse of Egypt, and you will know what an enemy means.” He claimed that his position does not stem from blind hatred but from the pursuit of justice: “I am not against anything, I am with justice.” At the height of his words, he compared Egypt to a star in the sky that cannot be ignored: “May no one raise their eyes in front of Egypt, because this Egypt is like the sun!”.

He concluded with a warning: “Today they tell you: ‘The sun burns very much,’ that’s right, it burns very much, and this army also burns very much.” Adib concluded the monologue with words of praise for the soldiers of the army, whom he called “our children, flesh of our flesh, who walk the earth”, and described their willingness to sacrifice: “He goes into battle out of sacrifice, with the hand, the hand, the hand!”.
