The son of Mango chain founder Isak Andik has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his father.

The son of the founder of the Mango clothing chain, Jonathan Andik, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his father, Isak Andik. The entrepreneur died in a fall from a cliff in 2024; at first it was classified as an accident.

Jonathan, 45, was detained at his Barcelona home after the investigation was reopened following contradictions in his initial testimony the day after his father’s death. Initially, the inconsistencies were attributed to shock.

The suspect appeared before a judge, who set bail at one million euros. Details of the case have been restricted from publication, but the family said Jonathan is testifying and fully cooperating with the investigation.

Isak Andik, who was 71, died in December 2024 while walking with his son in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona – a route not considered particularly difficult. He fell into a 100-meter abyss.

Mango was founded in Barcelona in 1984 by Jewish immigrants from Turkey, brothers Isak and Nachman Andik. Today the chain includes 3,000 stores in 120 countries, and Isak’s fortune was estimated at $4.5 million.
