Trump: “The chance of a deal – 50:50”

US President Donald Trump spoke today (Saturday) with News 12 and addressed reports of progress in negotiations with Iran and the possibility that it would attack. The president even made it clear: “I wouldn’t make a deal if it wasn’t good for Israel.”

“The Iranians want to make a deal,” the president said. “I will see it (the latest Iranian draft, BR) later today. I will meet today with Witkoff, Kushner, Vice President Vance and other senior officials to discuss it. Maybe I’ll make a decision tomorrow. I think one of two things will happen – either I’ll hit them harder than they’ve ever been hit, or we’ll sign a good deal.”

At eight o’clock in the evening, Israel time, Trump will hold a conference call with Arab leaders to discuss the draft agreement and hear their opinion, according to a source privy to the details.

“I think it’s a solid 50:50 chance,” he said. “Either we’ll reach a deal, or I’ll blow them up until the end of time. A deal will include nuclear issues like enrichment and the stockpile of enriched uranium. There’s nothing they can do to make me get off that. I don’t think Netanyahu is worried. I wouldn’t make a deal if it wasn’t good for Israel. Some people would prefer a deal and others would prefer to renew the war. I think Netanyahu is torn between the options.”

In a phone call with a CBS News reporter, Trump said that “the sides are getting very close” regarding the agreement. Earlier today, it was reported in the British “Financial Times” that the chances of extending the ceasefire for another 60 days are increasing. The AP agency also reported that the US and Iran are getting closer to an understanding regarding the end of the war
