On Thursday night, a 16-year-old is said to have attacked and injured a police officer in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The Berlin police said the teenager hit the officer in the face with his fist when she tried to arrest him. She therefore had to be taken to a hospital.
According to the information, the 16-year-old was noticed driving a rental car on Am Tempelhofer Berg around 11:40 p.m. When police stopped the car, the driver and a companion are said to have jumped out and ran away.
The teenager was caught by an officer who took him to the ground. To free himself, he is said to have hit her several times in the face.
According to the police, her colleague then stopped pursuing her companion and came to her aid. The 16-year-old is said to have resisted arrest, which is why the police used physical force.
According to the information, the officer suffered injuries to her head, arm and one leg and had to stop her duties. The passenger escaped and initially remained unknown.
The teenager also later complained of a headache and was taken to hospital. After outpatient treatment, he was taken into police custody and eventually handed over to his parents. The investigation is ongoing.
