Ukraine and Russia confirmed this Friday the successful exchange of a total of 390 prisoners of war, 185 for each side, in the successful continuation of one of the few links between kyiv and Moscow, which is a process of exchanging captured prisoners, thanks in large part to the mediation carried out by the United Arab Emirates.
Both the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the Russian Ministry of Defense have confirmed this morning’s exchange, which involves “private soldiers, sergeants and officers,” according to the president. A Ukrainian civilian has also been released, the Ukrainian president announced on social networks.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed, in its respective statement, that the 185 soldiers are already receiving medical attention in Belarus accompanied by the national commissioner for Human Rights, Yana Lantratova.
The penultimate exchange took place on May 15 and involved 410 troops, 205 per side.
