“We are living in a phase characterized by upheavals” and the “geopolitical structures, tensions and conflicts are testing the resilience of the Atlantic Alliance”, of Europe “and the very credibility of international organizations starting from the United Nations. In a context of great strategic uncertainty it appears essential to defend the rules of cooperation built after the Second World War”, to “prevent relations between states from suffering” a regression “towards permanent conflict”. This was said by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella who received the Chief of Staff of the Navy and a representative of the Navy at the Quirinale on the occasion of Navy Day.
