Lebanon, analyst Zehavi: ”With the US-Iran agreement Hezbollah is strengthened, they should be treated like the Nazis”

The former Israeli military intelligence officer and Middle East expert believes that ”the agreement strengthens Hezbollah in Lebanon and, inevitably, weakens the Lebanese government and the likelihood that the latter will proceed with the disarmament of the organization”, which indeed regains ”freedom of action to rebuild and recover”. For fifteen years in the Intelligence Corps of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Zehavi particularly criticizes the fact that Iran is allowed to export oil. ”A lot of money will come to Iran, with the article of the agreement reached with the United States that allows Iran to export oil. And this means that a lot of money will come to Hezbollah,” he says.

”As a resident of northern Israel, I am very concerned about a situation in which Israel must respect a ceasefire and must also completely withdraw from Lebanon,” she continues, explaining that in this way ”Hezbollah terrorists will return to threaten our lives”. Because ”it will not be possible to protect Israeli communities located near the border” with Lebanon if ”the other side has freedom of action to develop infiltration capabilities and conduct direct attacks against these communities”. So, ”from northern Israel, I clearly see the danger: pandering to this regime will not bring peace, but will only strengthen those who threaten” Israel.

Finally, the Israeli analyst comments, ”the agreement also sends a very bad message to other actors who threaten global security in various ways. China with Taiwan, Russia with Europe, North Korea with South Korea. For this reason the hope is that ”the American Administration will retrace its steps” and understand that ”there must be no compromises with the axis of evil”.
