Abelardo de la Espriella | Election day in Colombia ended with controlled riots and no fatalities

The preliminary balance left 15 photodetection posts (photomultas) attacked, four stations of the MIO transport system vandalized, a bus damaged, four people injured and two captured.

The mayor of Cali, Alejandro Eder, assured that the violent events were concentrated in a single sector of the city and announced a reward of up to 200 million pesos (about $50,000) for anyone who provides information that allows those responsible to be identified and captured.

The result of the preliminary count of the elections must be confirmed by the official scrutiny carried out by more than 9,000 judges and notaries in the coming days.
