Initial report from Canada: a shooting incident in a Jewish neighborhood in Montreal

In Montreal, Canada, they announced this evening (Monday) about a suspected shooting involving hostages at a supermarket in a Jewish neighborhood in the city. The shooting took place near a Chabad house, and police officers were recorded outside a kosher supermarket in the neighborhood.

The international division of the ZAKA reported that “a shooting incident is currently taking place in a Jewish business center, the local police forces are handling the incident and we are following up in the hope that the incident will end without casualties.” According to the suspect, as mentioned, it is an attack and there is at least one policeman injured at the scene.

Moishi Balach, a ZAKA volunteer who is near the arena said: “According to the information provided so far, there is a report of hostages inside the arena. The local police forces are deployed in large forces and have cordoned off the entire area. The incident is still ongoing, and at this stage there are reports of two suspects who have not yet been caught and are walking around the area. We ask the public to obey the instructions of the security forces and avoid coming to the place.”
