Survey on the state election in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: AfD still at the top, but Schwesig’s SPD is making up ground

The co-governing Left gains one point and reaches eleven percent. The opposition CDU loses two points and reaches ten percent. The BSW is placed at six percent with an increase of one point and could enter the Schwerin state parliament for the first time. The Greens and the FDP, however, would leave the state parliament with four and three percent respectively.

According to the survey, Schwesig’s red-red coalition no longer has a majority. Aside from the AfD, there is also not enough for other two-party alliances. The CDU, in turn, rules out coalitions with the Left Party, such as a three-way alliance with the SPD. 1,000 eligible voters were surveyed from June 11th to 18th.
