A comprehensive exhibition of works by caricaturist Katharina Greve can be seen in the Caricatura Museum in Frankfurt am Main. “Your cartoons are politically significant and fun at the same time,” said director Martin Sonntag on Thursday. The show, open from June 27th to January 17th, 2027, shows cartoons and comics from sketches to the final artwork to the finished work. Individual pieces of painting as well as photographic and object art can also be seen.
The works include a cartoon series about the fat Princess Petronia (from 2015), who sits on a clump of comet in space like “The Little Prince”. Unlike him, she has a bad temper, defies the expectations of those around her and struggles for self-determination. The webcomic “The High-rise: 102 Floors of Life” (2015-2017) can be admired in 3D as a five-meter-high comic strip; each floor reveals an apartment with the dialogues of its residents.
Greve’s most recent comic series collected in a book, “My Stories of Mother and Daughter” (2025), is a homage to the classic “Father and Son” by Erich Ohser alias eo plauen. The show shows sketches, preliminary drawings and the colored execution of the humorous scenes.
