King Charles would have offered to principe Harry ea Meghan Markle the possibility of staying in a royal residence during their next trip to the United Kingdom, scheduled for some events related to Invictus Games. And the Sussexes would have accepted. The initiative, reported by various British media, is interpreted as a possible gesture of détente towards the son and daughter-in-law, after the Megxit (and subsequent accusations and revelations) from six years ago.
Buckingham Palace did not comment on the rumors and did not disclose which property would be made available to the couple, who would return to London for the first time in 4 years. According to media reports, the residence could be Buckingham Palacerecently undergoing an extensive renovation program and considered one of the safest places of royal heritage. The hypothesis, however, has not been officially confirmed.
According to The Times and The Independent, who cite sources close to the matter, Harry and Meghan would have accepted the sovereign’s invitation.
The unknown Meghan (and children)
It also remains unclear whether Harry will be accompanied by his family. The presence of Meghan and her children Archie e LilibetIn fact, it is not yet taken for granted. If confirmed, the offer of a royal residence would represent the first such gesture to the Sussexes since the couple renounced their roles as working members of the royal family and moved to the United States in 2020.
