Cuba accuses the US of “unprecedented pressure” to prevent complaints of its measures at the UN

He Cuban Government This Friday, he accused the United States of carrying out “unprecedented pressure” on countries to prevent the denunciation of Washington’s measures against the island in the session of the United Nations General Assembly (HIM) on July 7 in New York.

Last Tuesday, the head of Cuban diplomacy announced in a press conference that a session will be held at the HIMrequested by Havana, in which ““Cuba will denounce the aggressive actions of the US.” against him, “an urgent situation because the multidimensional aggression of the United States is already underway and there is”.

He also specified that the General Assembly meeting will have among its central objectives the denunciation of the Washington’s energy siege against Cubaimposed since last January, and which causes “increasing damage, deprivation and suffering” to its population. Furthermore, he said he was “certain” that the majority of the international community will support his country.

This Friday, Rodríguez affirmed that the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio -without mentioning his name-, “not only seeks to justify his aggressive actions that are causing serious damage to the Cuban people and that would cause much more if he executes his favorite option: going to war.”

In his message, the island’s foreign minister maintained that Rubio “intends to make the rest of the international community complicit in collective punishment, a crime against humanity in full execution and a bloodbath of Cuban and American citizens, which would only favor his political interests and those of others who, like him, have benefited from the suffering of the Cuban people.”

“(The United States) does not care at all about International Law or the UN Charter. They feel unpunished in the face of legality,” he added.
