Iran believes that key parts of the memorandum have been invalidated after Mr. Trump’s statement, warning the US of “dangerous consequences” from this.
“On the morning of July 8, the US military blatantly violated Article 2, Clause 4 of the United Nations Charter and committed military aggression against surveillance centers on the southern coast of Iran,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry said today. “The US also seriously violated point 1 of the memorandum of understanding between the two countries on ending hostilities.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry also criticized the US Treasury Department’s revocation on July 7 of the temporary sanctions exemption license for Iranian oil, saying this action violated the commitment in point 10 of the memorandum.
“Along with developments in the Strait of Hormuz and Israel’s continued campaign in Lebanon, the important and core contents of the memorandum are no longer valid,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry warned. “The US will bear full responsibility for the dangerous consequences caused by this escalating action.”

This is Iran’s first reaction after US President Donald Trump announced on the same day that the ceasefire with this country had ended.
“Negotiating with them is just a waste of time,” the White House boss said at the NATO summit in Ankara, Türkiye, when asked whether the ceasefire agreement with Iran was still valid.
The US President used harsh language to criticize Iran’s leadership, saying Tehran “did not play nice” when attacking commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, an action that was considered a violation of the ceasefire agreement. He warned that the US could continue to strike targets in Iran.

“We will attack them fiercely tonight,” Mr. Trump said before meeting his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
The US military previously announced that it had raided more than 80 targets in areas in and near the Strait of Hormuz in response to “Iran’s targeting of commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz”. Iranian media recorded many explosions occurring on the southern coast of the country in the early morning of July 8.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched missiles and drones at US military targets in Kuwait and Bahrain in response, threatening to expand the scope of the attack if Washington continues its aggression.
Iran calls on its neighbors in the Persian Gulf to “fulfill their international legal obligations, avoiding their territory and facilities being used to launch attacks against Iran.” Tehran declares that it will not hesitate to protect its territorial integrity, sovereignty and national security, and is ready to respond to the source of aggression.
