Samvel Karapetyan’s house arrest was extended for another 2 months

At the beginning of the court session, the prosecution submitted a petition for another 3 months of house arrest.

The billionaire businessman is accused of calling for a power grab, money laundering, tax evasion and fraud. He considers the accusation political.

Karapetyan was imprisoned last summer when he announced to “protect the Armenian Apostolic Church in his own way”. Law enforcers called this very expression a call to seize power. Later, articles on economic crimes were added.
