Iranian television “celebrated” the death of Lindsey Graham: “good news”

The Iranian media happily reported the death of the American senator, who led a hawkish line against the regime in Iran – and supported Israel.

“The news is so good that I want to read it to you again,” said a presenter on Iranian television happily. “Lindsey Graham, an anti-Iranian senator, has gone to hell. Senator Graham was one of the figures hostile to Iran in the US Congress and supported Trump’s attacks on Iran.”

The Iranian presenter said: “Graham’s office used the phrase ‘sudden illness’ to describe the cause of death of the American senator.”

Another TV presenter in Iran happily reported the death of Lindsey Graham: “I would like to congratulate the great Iranian nation that Lindsey Graham, the anti-Iranian war-mongering US senator, has gone to hell.”

Graham’s office said this morning that “on the evening of Saturday, July 11, Graham passed away following a brief and sudden illness.” In their message they wrote that the members of his family appreciate the prayers and ask for privacy in their difficult time.

The President of the United States Donald Trump, whom Graham is considered close to, paid tribute to him: “One of the greatest people and senators I have ever known. He was a true American patriot, he will be greatly missed.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “At our last meeting I said, ‘We don’t have a better friend than Lindsay.’ He understood that the security of Israel and America are inseparable, and he dedicated his life to strengthening our alliance.” Netanyahu wrote that “Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend.”
