“We were not effective enough. We will be in the future. We will bring the biggest changes in the last 40 yearsa new political model, a new economic model, after the negative turn of the 1980s. We will reindustrialize the country.” British Prime Minister Andy Burnham declared it in the speech he gave upon his arrival at Downing Street, greeted with long applause. Burnham anticipated a long-term plan, for the next ten years, and also some immediate measures, starting tomorrow, to “give people a breather”.
