Friend of Ukraine, critic of Israel: Andy Burnham appointed UK Prime Minister

King Charles III appointed Andy Burnham as the new Prime Minister of Great Britain. He became the 59th politician to hold this position, and the seventh in the last ten years, which is evidence of the crisis of the British political system.

The former mayor of Manchester is called the “King of the North” because it is there that his center of political influence is located. He is a consistent supporter of support for Ukraine, but advocates a tougher course towards Israel. He is also the first Catholic to hold this position.

In his inaugural speech, the Labor prime minister promised to correct the shortcomings that, according to him, have characterized British politics since the 1980s, that is, since the period of Margaret Thatcher. He promised to decentralize politics, involve citizens in governance and end the privatization of public services.

Particular attention was paid to the fight against the high cost of living. Burnham promised to present his first thoughts on this issue tomorrow, and by the end of the year to present a ten-year strategic plan for the country’s development, providing for reform of the health care, education and social assistance systems.
