Morocco really dedicated a highway to Trump: the confirmation of the king

The artery, 1,055 kilometers long, until now bore the name ‘Tiznit-Dakhla’: it is a highway that connects the north and south of the country, also crossing the Sahara. The news had been anticipated in recent days by Trump himself, who on the Truth social network had thanked the sovereign for the ‘gift’. On that occasion, however, no official confirmation had arrived from the Moroccan authorities. Morocco’s state news agency clarified the matter, publishing the king’s letter dated July 2.

In the message, Mohammed VI wanted to underline the role played by Trump during his first term in the White House, recalling the recognition, in 2020, of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. “The historic recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara will forever remain imprinted in the memory of Moroccans, from generation to generation,” writes the sovereign, adding that relations between Rabat and Washington “have never been as vigorous and fruitful as during your two presidential mandates.”

In the post published on Truth, Trump also shared a video of the road, the cost of which is estimated at around one billion dollars, commenting: “I can’t wait to one day, hopefully soon, travel across this great highway!”.
