A Paris court rejected the appeal of Russian propagandist Fedorova against deportation

The Paris administrative court rejected the appeal of the former editor-in-chief of the Paris bureau of the Russian television channel Russia Today, Ksenia Fedorova, against the decision of the French authorities to deport her because she is engaged in propaganda.

Fedorova called the decision to deport and freeze her French property censorship. However, the court ruled that she could not prove that deportation from the country would have serious personal consequences for her, France 24 reports. Her lawyer Emmanuel Pivnica said that he would appeal the verdict, adding that his client is not in the country.

RT’s Paris bureau was closed in 2022, following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, Fedorova remained in France, acting as a commentator in right-wing media and spreading narratives favorable to Russia.

The French authorities believe that it is using the public platform to promote the interests of the Russian regime, which is especially unacceptable on the eve of the elections to the National Assembly. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez accused her of undermining the fundamental values ​​of the republic, and Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot called her a Russian agent of influence.
