Iran and Oman agreed on the geographical coordinates of the shipping route passing through the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced by the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghai, adding that the joint statement about this is in the finalization stage, provided that third parties do not intervene.
According to him, such an agreement between Iran and Oman by itself will not guarantee security in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier today, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant announced that as a result of negotiations on the resumption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the US and Iran are close to signing an agreement, expressing hope that it will happen today or tomorrow.
