“Perhaps this became our trump card. There were no signals emanating from the aircraft, not even radio signals. Well, perhaps, on the first day, the enemy did not expect that we would have enough courage and audacity for such a mission,” he said.
According to media publications, the damage caused to the United States during the conflict with Iran significantly exceeds the official assessment of the Donald Trump administration. It was noted that the evacuation of some personnel and family members of military personnel, undertaken on the eve of the attack, made it possible to significantly reduce losses among US citizens.
Damage was caused to runways, the latest radar systems, dozens of airplanes and helicopters, warehouses, command centers, and satellite communications infrastructure. The restoration will cost five billion dollars, and this amount does not include equipment that will have to be written off.
The affected bases are located in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The US naval command complex was damaged in Bahrain. Its restoration alone will cost $200 million.
It was reported that in the first days of the war, the Iranian F-5 was able to overcome the air defense system and bomb the Camp Buring base in Kuwait. According to Jafari, we are talking about Su-24 aircraft. This marked the first time in many years that enemy warplanes successfully attacked an American base.
