Ukraine launches a new attack on facilities of the Russian giant Wildberries in Yekaterinburg

The Russian authorities reported this Friday that Ukrainian forces have attacked with drones the facilities of the digital commerce giant Wildberries, known as the ‘Russian Amazon, in the city of Yekaterinburg, located in the Ural Mountains, which has already become a recurring target for Kiev.

About 800 people have had to be evacuated, according to the presidential representative in the Ural Federal District, Artem Zhoga, who stressed that there have been no injuries. “The criminal regime in Kiev continues its attempts to harm our regions and sow panic,” he denounced online.

The attack has also been confirmed by the company’s press service, which has reported that the firefighting teams have managed to put out the fire that occurred as a result of the attack, ensuring, it said, that “most of the merchandise” has not suffered damage.

The governor of the province of Sverdlovsk, Denis Pasler, has detailed that up to three Ukrainian drones hit the roof of these facilities.

This week, Wildberries facilities in the cities of Tula, Tver, Leningrad and Moscow have been targeted by Ukrainian drones. The attack on an industrial area in the Moscow municipality of Chekhov left five dead and a dozen injured, adding another fifteen that had already been reported previously.

With this intense campaign on the country’s main digital commerce company, kyiv intends not only to hit the Russian economy, but also to demoralize and directly transfer the ravages of war to the Russian population, which has been suffering for several weeks from certain problems of shortages at gas stations due to the bombings of refineries and oil stations.
