The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported this Monday that An earthquake of magnitude 7.4 on the Richter scale has been recorded with its epicenter five kilometers from the town of San José del Palmar, in the Colombian department of Chocó.

The epicenter of the earthquake, recorded at around 7:34 a.m. (local time), was located five kilometers east of San José del Palmar and had a depth of 107 kilometers, as reported by the USGS in a preliminary report.
