“A rigorous migration policy is essential for Denmark and for Europe.” The Danish Prime Minister stated this during a debate in parliament, Mette Frederiksen according to what he reports on Danish TV Tv 2 News which he defined “the images coming from Ceuta are worrying. “We continue to follow the situation with extreme attention”, he underlined, adding that the government will not hesitate “even for a second” to adopt “the necessary measures” should there be direct migrant flows across Europe. Border controls, he stressed, can be tightened significantly with just a few hours’ notice.

“The important thing, regarding Schengen – he underlines – is that if problems arise in a country, be it crime or refugees, the most effective weapon we have in Denmark is border control. Thanks to this tool we have managed to stop criminals. I am a very strong supporter of border controls“. Frederiksen also said he “strongly disagrees” with Spain regarding migration policy.
