The investigation is currently being conducted by a joint team of the Vienna police and the economic unit in Blade 433 of the Israel police. It is not clear to the researchers how the two Israeli women disappeared without a trace, when no digital traces of the two were found either.

A senior official in the investigation described: “Our starting point is that they are alive. We have no idea what the motive is. We are checking if this whole incident was planned, that is, if the mother and daughter planned to escape from the country, or if it was a criminal incident by a local gang from Vienna.” According to him, the possibility that this is a nationalist activity is also being examined.

Mali and Liel were last seen in Vienna on Friday about a week ago, and since then they have lost contact. Their family members gave testimony to Lahav investigators and handed them the information they had. The family demands to continue to examine the possibility that this is an incident with a nationalistic background, as long as the two have not been located.
