A retirement home that is in the restricted area for defusing a bomb in Berlin-Neukölln does not have to be evacuated. It was agreed with the old people’s home that the residents could stay in the house and not have to leave it, said police spokesman Martin Halweg. But you should only stay inside the house and not at the windows.
The home also has residents who lie in bed or sit in wheelchairs. The home is not far from the Neukölln shipping canal, where an aircraft bomb was found. It should be defused today. Around 5,600 households are affected.
