Tourism is an economic factor: day visitors bring billions in sales to Brandenburg

The hospitality industry benefited particularly strongly with sales of around 2.7 billion euros, followed by retail with almost 1.5 billion euros and services with around 1.2 billion euros. It was said that tourism has an impact far beyond the classic tourist businesses. “Tourism creates quality of life and quality of stay – for guests, but also the people who live here,” said Economics Minister Martina Klement (CSU) according to the announcement.

According to the tourism industry, a special feature in Brandenburg is the high proportion of day guests: around every second euro generated in the tourism industry comes from day guests.

The SPD state parliamentary group announced that the coalition in Brandenburg is committed to maintaining mini-jobs and reducing bureaucracy for the tourism and catering industry.
