Ukraine, Russia uses tanks from 70 years ago

Russia has started taking old T-54/55 tanks built in the 1940s and 1950s from depots and sending them to the front in Ukraine. This was reported by the independent Russian investigative site Conflict Intelligence Team (Cit), relaunched by Ukrainska Pravda.

Cit reports that it has obtained images of the transport of tanks by train from the Russian Far East. “We have established that the train filmed recently departed from the town of Arsenyev, Primorsky region, where the 129th tank repair and storage base is located. tank”, it is specified.

The new means, so to speak, are mobilized while on the other side the Ukrainian army is preparing to receive much more modern supplies from Western countries. Kiev awaits the German-made Leopard tanks which will be guaranteed by Germany and by the countries authorized by Berlin to transfer the vehicles purchased in the past. The United States, on the other hand, will send the Abrams tanks: in all likelihood, Washington will not send the more modern versions of the extremely powerful vehicles, as part of an operation that will allow for a reduction in delivery times.
