“The US supports direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regardless of the location of the negotiations”

The United States supports direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regardless of the platform on which the negotiations are held, Vedant Patel, deputy head of the press service of the State Department, said in a briefing.

“Direct negotiations between the parties are fundamentally important, regardless of where they took place: in Arlington, Brussels or Moscow,” Patel said, commenting on the May 25 meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Moscow.

The Prime Minister of Armenia informed today that after the meeting in Brussels with the mediation of Ilham Aliyev, the President of the European Council, and before the planned June 1 meeting in Chisinau with the participation of the leaders of France and Germany, another negotiation is planned in Moscow with the mediation of Putin.

Tomorrow, before the tripartite meeting in Moscow scheduled for May 25, the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia will hold talks in the capital of Russia.
